WISDOM TEETH

Wisdom teeth typically begin to develop in the teenage years and may continue to emerge into your late 20s. These third molars may cause no issues at all, or they may need to be removed due to various complications. During your consultation, we will assess the health and positioning of your wisdom teeth.

While not everyone will need them removed, there are certain situations where extraction might be necessary, including:

  • Pain or discomfort Impaction (when teeth are trapped in the jaw)
  • Cysts or tumors Crowding caused by pressure from the wisdom teeth Damage to nearby teeth
  • Gum disease
  • Tooth decay that cannot be restored

In some cases, removing wisdom teeth is an important part of periodontal treatment or orthodontic care. If removal is recommended, we'll discuss various options to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible.

For more information, schedule an appointment with us to learn more about your wisdom teeth and whether removal is right for you.
